Wilkes Health Dept Gets Grant Funding

The Wilkes County Health Dept recently received a $1500 grant from the Health Foundation for the Homegrown Health Diabetes project.  These funds will be used to purchase food to continue Diabetes Cooking classed to create healthy eating habits for Wilkes County families.  Also, the Health Dept received additional funds from the State of NC relating to Hurricane Matthew from October 2016.  These funds will be used to support continuing education and travel for the Emergency Preparedness program.  No county money was involved with either grants received.
