It was a tie-breaking vote last week at the Wilkesboro Town Council meeting over beer and wine sales.  Some local businesses and Merchants Association requested that beer and wine sales be allowed earlier on Sunday from noon back to 10am.  Councilman Jimmy Hayes and Russ Ferree voted against allowing the beer and wine sales two hours earlier on Sundays.  Council members Gary Johnson and Nellie Archibald voted for the earlier sales.  Mayor Mike Inscore cast the tie-breaking vote against earlier sales.
