NC Sen Burr Agrees with Leaving Iran Deal

NC Senator Richard Burr released the following statement on President Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), otherwise known as the Iran Deal, and re-impose sanctions: “I agree with President Trump’s decision to withdraw…This deal, which was not ratified by the United States Senate under the Constitution’s requirements for treaties, was based on the naive hope by the previous administration that the world’s number one state sponsor of terror would change its bad behavior….”  Burr said, “We owe it to the American people and our allies …to more effectively deny Iran’s ability to develop a nuclear weapon.”
