A couple of pocketbooks were stolen and found in Wilkesboro.  In the first report, a resident on Beech Circle called the Sheriff's Office concerning a theft from her car.  The woman reported that her car was entered during the overnight hours.  Her pocketbook was stolen from the vehicle.  The woman found her pocketbook in her mailbox.  The cash from inside was the only thing stolen.  Some young people were seen in the area by neighbors, but there is no word on the identity of suspects.  In the second report, a victim said their pocketbook was stolen from a car parked in the driveway of a Dogwood Drive residence.  The pocketbook, two sets keys, a pistol, and other items were stolen from the car.  The pocketbook with checkbook and keys were found in the woods off Cedar Lane.  The gun was not recovered.  The Wilkes Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate.
