Wilkes County Declares State of Emergency

As a Precaution Wilkes County, the Town of North Wilkesboro, Town of Ronda, and Town of Wilkesboro has issued a Proclamation for a State of Emergency due to the possibility of damages from Hurricane Florence.  County Commissioner Chairman Gary Blevins signed the proclamation this morning.  Hurricane Florence is expected to track westward across the state bringing high winds and heavy rain to Wilkes County. The severe weather is imminent and could place a significant burden on our emergency response teams and local infrastructure. The towns and the County will be working together to help protect the safety and welfare of our citizens.
